A lot of moms that I know do the home-based things like Pampered Chef, Creative Memories, Avon, Mary Kay, etc. Look in the back of magazines like Parenting… they have adds for home-based careers like those named above, others that are baby/child geared (toys, books, etc). Other choices: dictation for Dr.’s offices, translator if you know a 2nd language, tutoring in your favorite subject, Family Child Care (home based day care… you have to be state certified and inspected). Hi I do Mary Kay & although don’t have kids–many MANY other consultants that I work with do have kids & are SINGLE moms.
YOu have to work but its flexible meaning that if you wanted to go to your kids sports games after school–you’d arrange your day around that vs. having to work through that.
I used to be a legal assistant & although i liked it, I saw A LOT Of women having to miss their kids’ events due to working late! or just inflexible work schedules!!
