I hope it’s just the media but I’ve heard a lot of horror stories of children of atheist parents being bullied out of schools, even physically attack and having various crimes commit against them. I hope to live in America some day, but I’m trying to put these worries to rest. Atheists only please.

utter bullshit. mention of god is forbidden in public school
That’s false. unless you move to the bible-thumping parts of the south, there will be no problem whatsoever.
While I don’t have kids, I am an Atheist and was bullied in school for it. The worst that happened to me was someone threw a Bible at my head. It all depends on the school and the kids though. I went to a really bad school. I would just check out schools before hand.
Well, I don’t have children. I’m an atheist, but I’m fourteen, in high school. Really, you’re not really supposed to talk about religion in school. I have been given a load of crap before about it, with so many people around me being religious, but there are actually quite a few people I know that are atheist and I can relate to well. They’re just afraid to “come out.” I don’t blame them, though.
What you’ve heard is nonsense. Maybe in certain parts of the south things like that occasionally happen, but generally you won’t really have any problems with it.
I’ve been atheist/agnostic ever since I can remember, while most people around me are Christian, and I’ve never had any problems with people bullying me or anything like that.
People are more accepting than you might think here.
