You have several options, Put out a resume online with sites like Monster.com,Highlight any skills that a stay at home mom might have to offer an employer,such as organizational skills, an ability to multi-task,ability to keep a clear head in stressful situation,etc. You can apply for a civil service job with a local military base. Or you can go into a homebased business,that will allow you to put as much or as little time as you like into. I, myself have my own business as an Avon Ind. Sales Rep. Not only do I sell Avon Products, but I also am a Unit leader and do recruiting. And I do quite well. But, it is all about your comfort zone. Where do you see yourself in the workforce? If you want insight on a homebased business, I’ll be happy to explain how they work, or if you have a desire to work in a restaurant, I have some contacts. Good luck!
I was in the same situation as you not too long ago. For me insurance was the answer. I couldn’t afford to go back to college financially or time wise. All that is required to get started in insurance is a license from your state of residence and a good mentor, if you’re interested in owning and building your own business (fortunately, for me I was given the opportunity to purchase a financial services franchise with ongoing support and education for under $200.00 that I started from home). If your’re not interested in your own business there are many established insurance companies that will hire you for a reasonable salary or on a commision basis. I worked for a well known agency for 8 months but couldn’t handle someone controlling my time and income potential so I quit and went independent. For me doing so has been an answer to my prayers. My income has doubled and the hours I work are determined by me not anyone else.
